We bought a VCR from Overstock.com on September 29, 2005. It arrived within days and we thought...great service! When we opened the box, we were shocked that it barely had any packing material in it...the VCR obviously was bouncing around the whole trip! Needless to say, it didn't work. It turned on, but didn't play tapes.

When we went to the Overstock.com website to process the return, we selected “Item Broken/Defective” from the drop down menu, as to the reason we were returning it, the next page wouldn’t load, we were re-directed to the “Shopping” page. This happened the four times we tried.

Finally, we figured out how to get around it and selected “NOT WHAT I EXPECTED” as to the reason for the return (not a lie, really!), the next page loaded just fine.

Then, when given the choice of printing the label ourselves or having it emailed, we selected the option to print the label ourselves; there was no way we were going to wait for an email...not after what Michael Horowitz went through waiting to hear from these people.

The next page came up and there was our label... printed it...done!

They charged us a 15% restocking fee and a shipping charge that was higher than what we paid to have it shipped to us in the first place. Small price to pay to be rid of them!

Shipped the VCR back today, October 14, 2005, packed exactly the same way Overstock packed it...one piece of bubble wrap!

We will NEVER buy from Overstock again. Chances are very good, they will put our broken VCR back on the shelf and sell to the next 'victim'!

Thank you for supplying this blog, Michael; people need to be aware.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I HAVE WITH OVERSTOCK AUCTIONS IS BEING CONTINOUSLY CUT OFF WHEN LISTING MY AUCTIONS!!!!! USUALLY, IT WILL BE A LONGER ONE!!!! I AM TIRED OF HAVING TO RE-TYPE SO MANY SUBMISSIONS!!!!!

I recommend not buying from Overstock unless you know exactly what you're buying, e.g. a book. The photos aren't good enough and the customer service people aren't knowledgeable enough to find out details.

And their official return policy is that they don't accept returns for "buyer's remorse," whatever that means. And who checks the returns policy until you want to return something? I recommend you be very sure you know and want what you're ordering!

We ordered a comforter at Overstock.com on October 18, 2005. After inquiring several times to why it had not shipped we were "escalated" and we would hear something in 2-4 days. During that time the price dropped $20. I requested that the price be adjusted because we had to wait so long. They said I would have to cancel my original order and resubmit a new order to get the price adjustment. I was reluctant but agreed after being promised that my item would ship and I would have it in a few days, along with a credit to my credit card that was charged on October 21st. Guess what? My item still hasn't shipped and it has been over a week, and now I have two active orders and was told that I will just have to refuse them when they arrive. I asked to be escalated again, and was told that I would get confirmation of my cancellation in 2- 4 business days. Don't ever do business with Overstock.com! If anything goes wrong there is no one to help you!

True cost of $1.00 shipping fees.

$1.00 shipping fee. This is fantastic I can buy a huge sofa or a car online and I will pay no tax and $1.00 shipping. Well if you think like this, think again, or perhaps better read the fine text in your refund policy. This seams like another online scam overstock is using to force their costumers to buy binge: buy, buy, and buy its “cheep”. Well cheep is a relative term. It may be cheap in a short myopic future, however expensive in the long run. Lets say you don’t like the item once you actually receive it in the mail. What are you going to do? Keep it? Put it on your mantelpiece; shove it in a box in case you need a gift for someone you don’t really care about that much. Most people will like to return it. Now you had made a purchase in good fate, you spent at least $50.00 on you purchase (anything less than that seams just unreasonable for pulling your credit card). To return an Item Overstoc.com will charge you restocking and shipping fee. So on your $50.00 purchases from Overstoc.com you will get $40.00 back. Who just made $10.00 easy dollar? Let me just say it was not you. Now you can feel little better because you did not buy a car or a big sofa, you just bought a watch, shoos or dress. If you buy in your local department store you will get at least 30 days refund policy with no strings attached. You will have the chance to look, examine, try on, and feel the item you want to buy. If you still don’t like it, you will get FULL refund. Now if you buy from overstock you can somewhat see what you are getting from little tiny picture on your computer screen. However you cannot try it on, you cannot feel it, you cannot examine it. Now if you are not satisfied and like to return your purchase, you will be charged restocking fee and shipping fee. Do I have to ask is it fair? One piece of advice if I may, think about the true coast of your purchase when you are buying online or from your local retailer being it Wall Mart or Ovarstoc.com. Is the price you pay now and the cost you will have to endure in long term good for you or the retailer.

I happily ordered merchandise from Overstock in August '05. Everything arrived except for one item. I've spoken to innumerable customer reps, e-mailed Overstock, etc. etc., each contact with a promise of full credit for the 29.99 which is the value of the missing item. I've NEVER RECEIVED credit. The company's customer service is HORRIBLE. O wo;; never purchase anything from them again. Not a surprise that their income is falling. Rightly so.

I tried returning a Seiko watch that didn't work. It took three different phone calls to get one customer service person to send me the UPS forms to return the item without paying postage. Now, approximately a month later, the item still has not been credited to my account. When I call I am put on hold by the barely English speaking personnel. When I e-mail I get lots of canned responses but no genuine action. I will never order from this pathetic company again and would like to see them go bankrupt (after I get credit for my broken watch).

I ordered an item from overstock.com and was sent the wrong item. Call customer service and was told they will credit my card and to order the right item. They charged me for the wrong and right item and instead of crediting my credit card they gave me an instore credit. After numerous calls to overstock.com and no resolution. I had to get Visa involved. I feel this is unjust since the error was on their part. I will never ever order from them again.

We ordered a coat for my sons birthday. When I received it, it was the wrong size. I printed a return label as instructed by Overstock.com. After emails and emails, I'm very dissappointed to say they cannot track my return. I'm out $60.00 and Overstock keeps getting richer and richer. Does anyone have a source I can go to?

I purhased two patio lounge chairs in july 2005. As i ripped open the box to assemble the lounger, i noticed it was broken. Overstock was gracious sbout the return. I got the return label by e-mail and returned the second lounger in the orginial box. I am unable to locate a new box to return the first lounger. I have not been credited for the return lounger. i am now stuck with a $200 lounger that can't be used. Never Overstock they re-ship broken merchandise and make you fight to get your money back. Never again.

OS.com is a total rip. I chatted with two customer service reps regarding my defective rug which I wanted to return. I never heard from the refund dept ever. Does anyone know how to sucessfully get a refund from these people?

I returned the camera I bought. I paid $144. It took over a month to get my refund, less almost $25 shipping and restocking charges. They kept telling me they needed more information - evidently they don't read the original return request. Finally they told me my account had been credited - but it took over a week to show up on my bank records. Before this experience I had been very happy with Overstock, but I won't be going back.

I was really pleased with the sheets I purchased through overstock...for about a week, then they began to be covered with pulls. It was like sleeping on gravel. When I called about returning the sheets I was told it was my problem, not their's. His comment was "How am I supposed to know you didn't do something to cause this?" I responded that I must have forgotten and worned my barbed wire pajamas to bed.
I would love to mail them back the sheet. I can't find a mailing address for them, though. Does anyone have one?

BUYER BEWARE: DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM OVERSTOCK. I purchased a full-sized bed on overstock for my guest room. It arrived late and the delivery guy all but took off -- didn't even put it in my garage. I had to wait until my husband got home to move it inside as it's an iron bed and I'm all of 5'3".

After putting it together (which took 1 hour 45 minutes), we discovered that it was not at all what we expected. The bed had an odd finish that was scratched and it really didn't fit in the room.

When I called to coordiante a return, I was told that I had not followed the oversized return policy where I was expected to make sure that there was no damage to the boxes and that the bed was in good condition (sorry, I didn't have a spy glass to look thru' the cardboard). I tried calling their 1.800 line many times and it was out of service for more than five hours! When I finally reached someone, they said I should have inspected it ... I said that it wouldn't have mattered because the delivery guy wasn't waiting around for me to do anything more than sign the paper ... he couldn't even bring it into the garage!

We paid $350 for the bed and they now expect US to pay potentially more than that to return it? ... as as far as they are concerned, there's nothing wrong with it ...???!!! Like, what planet are these people on??? BEWARE - Don't ever buy from Overstock.com.

I bought a comforter set from Overstock.com. First thing I did was wash the sheets according to washing instructions. The colors bled onto the white parts and the sheets were ruined. I thought, "okay, I can live without sheets as I was really more interested in the comforter anyway." So, I tossed the sheets. Next, I put the comforter on the bed and the next week while making the bed the comforter began to shred. I put a review comment that was negative and of course it was never posted. I asked for a refund and of course was denied because I no longer had the sheets or the packaging. I must say, I have had one good experience with Overstock (and my glowing review was posted, imagine that!) But, despite that I will never buy from Overstock.com. They have lousy customer service and the return policy is iffy at best. You are really taking a chance on their products. It is hit and miss and I find the odds unacceptable.

NEVER AGAIN!!! I purchased a freshwater paerl necklace fro my girlfriend for christmas less than 10 days ago. I paid 60 bucks for something that was supposed to be worth well over 150. I recieved the item in record time but being my first time purchasing jewelry online I was weary of a scam. TURNS OUT I WAS RIGHT!! I BROUGHT THE PEARLS TO A CERTIFIED JEWELER AND HE ALMOST LAUGHED AT ME!! HE CALLED THEM GOOD IMITATIONS BUT SAID THAT HE WOULDN'T HAVE PAID OVE 30 BUCKS!! I called Overstock and they said no problem just send it back to us. THEY TOLD ME THIS NEVER HAPPENS!! I DECIDED I WOULD GIVE THEM ONE MORE CHANCE AND BOUGHT ANOTHER PEARL NECKLACE THIS ONE BLACK AND STATED TO BE WORTH WELL OVER 800 DOLLARS. ONCE AGAIN RECORD TIME DELIVERY AND ONCE AGIN THE EXACT SAME RESULT!! IMITATIONS!!! FROM NOW ON NOBODY I KNOW WILL EVER USE OVERSTOCK.COM. I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THEY TRIED TO SCAM!! GET YOUR JEWELRY APPRAISED!! I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS. I WANT TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST OVERSTOCK.COM. ANYONE THAT HAS HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE MINE POST YOUR BLOG AND WE CAN MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD!!!

I purchased a 42" HDTV Plasma from Overstock. At first I thought what a great deal to pay $1800.00 + dollars instead of $3999.00. This product was refurbished as well. Two weeks later I went to Queen City and found the same exact TV for $1419.00. The deal with overstock is that there was no deal at all!

Last week, I bought a bunch of monster cables from Overstock.com. They are such a cheat. They sent me used ones packed in zipper loc bags. Never again, lesson learnt. I am sending them back right away.

I bought an area rug from Overstock.com. A similar, but not the same, rug arrived. Needless to say, I had to unwrap the rug to find out it was the wrong one. While I did convince Overstock to pay the shipping back and send UPS to pick it up, I had to wrap it before UPS would accept it. Ever try wrapping a 9 x 12 rug? We did so, and UPS dropped it off to their supplier on 12/9/06. I'm still waiting for my refund on 12/30/06, after several phone calls and web chats. I would never buy from them again!

I ordered a fictional book about zombies but got a small box with a motivational series of CDs. Twice I asked for a shipping label, but never received it. I kept emailing, but got nothing. After weeks of waiting, I sent it back via USPS, to save money, with the wrong item and a copy of the order form with a note asking for the right product.

A month goes by and I get nothing. I do the live chat twice, once I was disconnected. Basically, they tell me to give them a tracking number. I tell them repeatedly there is NO tracking number on USPS regular mail. They tell me, no tracking number, they can't help me.

I'm going to try calling tomorrow, but who knows? I'm probably about $12 or so...This is really LAME. Usually, for something this cheap, a company will send the right item, on good faith. To keep their customers. Guess overstock.com doesn't do that. I'm not looking to rip them off, just get my book!

Any advice?

Overstock.com is bad business said...

I think anybody who's been screwed over by overstock.com we need to all get together and do a class action lawsuit. Seriously, they are a rip off and don't care about the customer as long as they get a paycheck. I ordered my husbands christmas present, it never came..it got shipped to NY, instead of AL where we live because of their incompetence. So somebody else is enjoying my husbands gift. They are like here's $10 credit, like $10 credit is going to make everything ok for ruining my Christmas present for my husband. So do NOT rely on overstock for anything...i'd rather pay more for an item then deal with them ever again!!

Used overstock's search engine to find sheets in "California King" size. Item came up, I ordred them. Checking the order status a few days later, I see item is King, not Cal King. Contact them, live chat line: item has not been shipped but they will not stop order, are "sorry for the inconvenience". No flexibility at all. Not acknowledgement their search engine produced an error. Buy your stuff somewhere else.

BUYER BEWARE. I bought 2 rugs from Overstock. They arrived and looked NOTHING like the picture. I returned them(after a month of fighting for a return label). Sure enough, they will not refund my money! Scam: Now they are giving me a runaround about the USPS tracking number, it is there internal number- and they emailed me that it was recieved! But customer service will not refund my $ without the USPS label- which is Overstocks label. THE WORST EXPERIENCE. Do not buy from them. $780 fight.

I ordered an Item yesterday 5/16/2007, and called the customer service with Overstock.com. They could not find the order, so I wanted to cancel. Since they could not find it they could not cancel it

I called 5/17/2007 -less than 24 hours from ordering time- now they tell me they can not cancel the order

what kind of place is this?

even amazon.com personnel help you through cancellations

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

THE ITEM I BOUGHT WAS A GIFT. THE PERSON I AM GIVING THE GIFT TO IS ALLERGIC TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT METALS. UNFORTUNATELY I READ THIS ITEM CONTAINED ONE OF THOSE METALS AFTER I HAD PLACED THE ORDER.

OVERSTOCK IS NOT ABLE TO CANCEL THE ORDER
THEY CAN KILL THIS PERSON RECEIVING IT
THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME PRINTED MATERIAL ON THEIR CANCELLATION POLICY

THEY COMPLETELY SUCK

DO NOT BUY FROM OVERSTOCK. THEY ARE A SCAM

I am used to Amazon.com whose CSR's are absolutely awesome

I bought a pearl nacklace from OS and it arrived after more than 2 weeks. the moment I try to open the bag and took the nacklace out, the nacklace string broke off and the so called pearl(look like plastic to me) fall all over the floor. I send them an email and tell them I will never ever order anything from them again.

Last month I purchased (3) 4 inch bed toppers for $149.99 each. They sent one the wrong size, they came shrink wrapped in a box and once opened they will not fit back into the box. I called customer service and they told me they would send a correct sized one and to tie the bed topper up in a string and try and get fedex to take it back to them, if not they said forget about it. Fedex as I expected laughed about it and said yea, right! So I threw the topper in my shed and a outside cat is useing it as a bed. On 10/01/07 I recieved a email from Overstock saying I would be charged if I did not return the mattress. I called them and told them what their customer service rep said about forget it if fedex would not take it. They told me to go purchase a large box that it would fit into and ship it to them or I had to pay for it. It is dirty so I said to hell with it and paid for it and told them I would never use them again, they dropped the price by $20.00 dollars to try and make me feel better. I have bone cancer and live on disability and early this morning 10/04/2007 they hit my account with another charge of $149.99 which sent my checking account into overdraft causing all kinds of fees. I called them and they were rude, customer service supervisor Brandon S. told me it was their fault but they would only email me a letter to that effect, not mail me a signed letter that I could present to my bank, yet for me to get my overdraft charges refunded I have to get a bank statement on bank letterhead form and fax it to them, they will not accept a email from the bank or a online statement. My bank will only print out a blank sheet that is on plain paper and so I am having to wait on a regular statement to get my overdraft fees refunded, I am on a fixed income so this leaves me broke untill the end of the month and in overdraft status because they caused a domino effect of overdrafts with their unauthorized withdrawl from my bank. I will NEVER USE OVERSTOCK.COM EVER EVER AGAIN AND WILL RECOMMEND TO ANYONE NOT TO USE THEM OR IF YOU DO, DONT GIVE THEM YOUR DEBIT CARD NUMBER OR THEY WILL TAKE OUT MONEY ANY TIME THEY WANT TO AND THEN TELL YOU TO GO TO HELL!

2007 Oct 22: Ordered sofa and chair, sold as a set, for my second home in NC. Kept ck'ing periodically for shipping or tracking info but none was ever posted.

2007 Nov 12: Called Customer Service and they still did not have any shipping or tracking info.

2007 Nov 15: Loveseat (which I did not order) and chair were delivered by common carrier to local movers. They arranged to deliver to me on Nov 17. No paperwork was available for the movers, therefore the movers did not know that I had ordered a sofa instead of a loveseat.

2007 Nov 17: Loveseat and chair were delivered. I informed both the movers and overstock.com customer service that the wrong item had been shipped/delivered. Overstock told me that they would make a price adjustment. I told the movers I would not sign for delivery because what they delivered was not what I ordered and paid for. However, since the movers had no storage space available, I was willing to allow them to leave the two pieces until I received information from overstock.com on their price adjustment.

Week of 2007 Nov 17-24: Initiated multiple phone calls to overstock.com, attempting to obtain info on their plan to correct their error. Overstock offered me a $100 price reduction to compensate me for their error. This was completely unacceptable since I could see for myself on their site that about $700 was the difference in cost between the loveseat and sofa. I questioned as to whether they were using "bait and switch" tactics to get rid of large items that they could not sell otherwise.

2007 Nov 24: The movers came and picked up the loveseat and chair for return to the warehouse. I indicated on the shipping ladle that "Delivery was refused, as the item was not what I ordered." Overstock has not responded to any of my emails, and I have filed a dispute regarding the charges with my credit card company.

I do not plan to buy from them again, and I would emphasize "Buyer Beware" to anyone who is considering a purchase.

DO NOT USE OVERSTOCK.COM.

This holiday season I tried and it was a disaster. After promising that the items would arrive before Christmas, they did not. I was forced out of hte house on Christmas Eve to shop for people.

On a separate order, I ordered my kids a popcorn maker. At 1:30 Christmas morning i go to wrap it. It is broken and unusable. "We are sorry. We are out of stock and cannot get a replacement." Brilliant. I am not looking forward to the return process....

Two out out of two... "Is there anything else we can do for you?" is what they asked. Overstock.com... You haven't done anything for me yet. What makes you think you can do anything "more" for me now? Unvelieveable.

I am a reasonable guy with patience. This experience was hands down the worst buying experience of my life.

DON'T USE OVERSTOCK.COM. The prices are not worth the grief.

I purchased a popcorn maker for my wife on December 22, 2007 and opted for 3 day expediated delivery. At the writing of this comment, it is December 31, 2007 and the machine still has not arrived. Every time I call overstock.com, they get defensive and give me a list of reasons why it has not arrived and none of them are their fault. I doubt if I ever order anything from overstock.com again!!

I purchased an iPod dock speaker set. Needless to say the piece is broken. I just spoke to the manufacturer and they were able to tell me that this was a refurbished item, even though there was no denotation on the site that it was refurbished. Also, the refurbishment kills the manufacturers warranty so I'm hoping they take it back, but based on what I've read, it doesn't sound likely.

I purchased a featherbed as a gift. The receipients had an allergic reaction to it. Overstock.com will not give a refund because the package has been opened. The 30 day refund policy is a misleading lie. How does one evaluate a product without opening it? (Also, I ordered a queen size and they sent a full instead.)

In the future, I will be more wary of products made in China, and I will never do business with Overstock.com. They do not back up what they sell.

I do most of my shopping online but this is my first negative experience. Buyers, beware of Overstock.com

Overstock is a big rip off.
for one thing, they refuse to pay shipping charges to the companies that drop ship orders to customers. But charge the customer shipping charge, and just pocket the money. that is just wrong.

also, if one of overstocks vendors makes an error, guess who pays? the customer does. Overstock will actually cancel an order, thus inconveniencing the customer if an order entry person hits the wrong key. Most companies would just correct the error, rather than disappoint a customer by telling them that their order cannot be processed. i could go on all day about how bad of a company they are.....

The worst online shopping experience ever. I purchased a set of golf clubs and paid $66 to have them sent 2 business days, as I needed them for a trip. I also purchased some other golf stuff that was listed. TWO days later I got an email showing that the other items were not available (then why have them listed on the site??) and the golf clubs were being "processed". Needless to say I wasn't getting them in 2 business days. Called customer service and they said it takes them TWO days to process before the shipping. I asked to cancel the order, which they could not. But, they gave me back my expedited shipping charge. Not only did the clubs NOT come in the timeframe, but they came 7 days after I ordered. I called to return them AT OVERSTOCK'S COST and they agreed and said they will process the RMA. More than a week later and several phone calls, I still have not gotten it. Meanwhile I had to spend 1/2 day finding left hand ladies golf clubs. I thought the bad early days of the Internet were behind us...OVERSTOCK hasn't caught up. Had AMAZON had clubs I would have gotten them in 2 days with NO shipping cost.

After several successful purchases on Overstock.com, I made the mistake of purchasing a clothing item. Of course it doesn't fit, which is not that unusal, but I am shocked at how difficult it is to return something to this company. I buy almost everything from the Internet or catalogs and I have never seen a return process that is this difficult or complicated.

Yes, you save money on the initial shipping from Overstock, but if you have to return something, you'll spend WAY more than shipping from a normal company would have been.

I would advise staying away from this seller.

I ordered a Pink medium sized bathroom for my girlfriend for Christmas. I got it in the mail about 17 days later. I opened it up and it was an XL Navy blue Men's Bathrobe. What the heck.

I also ordered a Diamond necklace with an emerald in the middle for her birthstone. It came with a certificate of authenticity. The Birthstone what nicked up and i brought the necklace to a jeweler and the diamonds weren't even real! They said that the necklace was worth about $15 dollars and i paid $370! OVERSTOCK RIPS PEOPLE OFF SO BAD! NEVER BUY FROM OVERSTOCK.

Wow, now I don't feel so bad. I guess Overstock.com makes lots of money on returns and that's why they are so successful. How are they calculating these horrendous "restocking fees" anyway. How did they determine that they would only refund 2/3 of my total purchase? It's ridiculous. Companies that large shouldn't be doing this type of business. Just awful.

I ordered two coats and a pair of boots from overstock. Received them and none fit. I sent them back UPS. I only tried on one boot, left the other in the box with the stuffing still in it. They tried to rip me off. They tried to charge me $90 for worn soles on the boots and $46.00 for a stain on one of the coats. They still had tags on them. I called and received my money after threatening to dispute through my Creditcard company. Never have I seen such a BLATANT attempt to rip off customers. Even thought I got my money back, they still TRIED.

My father got ripped off by Overstock last month. He bought a jacket and never received it. I paid for the jacket through my Paypal account since he didn't have one. When I contacted them through the chat thing, they said they had no knowledge of the order even though their info showed up on the Paypal statement. I had a feeling he was scammed and gave them every bit of info they asked for but then I was given some excuse that they couldn't excess his info because I paid for the jacket with my card. I had his info AND my info, but for some reason they still couldn't work with me to find out where the jacket was. I was told to have him contact back about it. I know a scam when I see one so I called the credit card company and got the charges reversed. Since then,I have found this site and many others filled with complaints about this company. So I checked them out with the BBB and get this,THEY HAVE AN A+ RATING WITH THE BBB!!! How can that be? If you have a complaint with this company and have documentation to prove it's legitimate, file a complaint with the BBB. If we don't file with the BBB,they'll continue to have that rating and fool others.

I ordered some curtain rods and clip rings last Friday but came across some much better ones for a much better price the next day at a local shop. I immediately contacted Overstock to try to cancel the order but they said I couldn't since it had been sent to the warehouse already. It hadn't shipped yet, however, so I protested but they wouldn't budge.

The curtain rods and clip rings came in three separate boxes later that week. In trying to return them, I am having an extremely difficult time. One representative told me I could put the items all in the same box, so I boxed it up and taped it all together, but then when I called to reinitiate the "free" labels that are deducted from your refund when I found out UPS wanted to charge me $50 to return the items, another representative said I must box everything separately like it came.

The cost of the return for their "free" return labels is going to cost me at least $25, or about 1/5 of my refund.

This is the second time I had to return something I ordered from them. Last time the item was damaged (a coffee table) so I didn't have to pay to return it but I did have to lug it all over town to deliver it to their preferred shipper. I decided to give them another chance but never again will I order anything from this company.

All this hassle could have been prevented if they had just honored my wish (made within a day) to cancel this order.

Ordered a bracelet and earrings for my wife for Christmas. Was sent out on the 17th with delivery receipt. I wrote on Wednesday the 23 that I still didn't have the items. They replied that I would definitely receive it on the 24th. Mail came and went on the 24th. You guessed it, no items. I wrote and got another idiotic response that I would get the items today. They offered me a $5 gift to be applied on "my next purchase". It is now 9:30 pm and no items. Wonderful Christmas for my wife. I have written pointing out that I am not a Congress criminal and can't be bought but do recognize a bold face lie when it is told to me.

I will never deal with them again.

The review isn't for the product, but for Overstock.com return process. I purchased this for my teenage daughter who, after seeing it on her bed, decided she didn't like it because the down filling wasn't as puffy as she wanted. The comforter literally was out of the package for 20 minutes. I returned it and Overstock hit me with a $40.00 deduction for "hair," with no explanation of what that means!. The customer service rep initially offered to speak to a supervisor and see if she could give me partial credit and maybe a store credit for the remainder of my refund. She then came back and said that she couldn't because it was over her limit and referred my refund question to another department for a response in 1-2 business days. Regardless of what happers, I WILL NEVER SHOP OVERSTOCK.COM AGAIN.

just found this site looking for overstock.com's mailing address. wasted time filling out their customer "service" form last nite, then directed to FAQs and when i clicked on the only thing i could it just took me back to the original page from which my comments had been deleted! wasted like half an hour with their "quick" live chat whose agent refused to listen to the details of our problem, let me talk to her supervisor or provide me with the company's mailing address. not in any mood to waste more time and get upset again with some jerk on the telephone.

I ordered two rings at the same time. They were shipped separately! First one (a gift) arrived with no problem. The second one was delivered to my PO according to the tracking, but returned as "not deliverable as addressed." According to my PO, that meant it has insufficient postage. According to Overstock.com "they post office tried to deliver it 2-3 times. Really? Between 7:20 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. which are the times the PO said it was delivered and when it was returned? Then they tell me the ring is out of stock in my size. Really, then what did you send me? I am OVER overstock. Classic Bait and Switch.
